Aizawa in Israel and Switzerland
Dr. Kenneth Aizawa has been invited to participate in a conference, “Computation and the Brain,” May 16-19, 2011, at the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. The conference is being organized by Dr. Oron Shagrir of The Hebrew University and Dr. Eli Dresner of Tel Aviv University. It will also be part of an IAS Research Group on Computation and the Brain. Principal funding for Aizawa’s visit to Israel will be provided by the Institute.

While in Europe, Aizawa will give also give a talk on May 11, 2011, for the Philosophy Department at the University of Lausanne, Lausanne, Switzerland. His talk will be based, in part, on material to be included in his current book with Carl Gillett, Building the Brain.
Dr. Aizawa is the Charles T. Beaird Professor of Philosophy. Aizawa’s endowed chair was created by local philanthropist, businessman, and philosopher Charles T. Beaird in recognition of the importance of philosophy and its centrality to a liberal arts education.
