Insurance for Exchange Program Participants

Centenary College of Louisiana encourages and supports students to use weekends and evenings to broaden their travel to neighboring cities, countries and sites while they are on the overseas study program. Using free time to visit other cultural attractions will further broaden the advantages of the international study.

As a concurrently enrolled student at Centenary College of Louisiana and at an institution abroad with which Centenary College operates an articulated exchange program, you will be covered under the College’s Foreign Liability Overseas Assistance plan. You do not have to purchase this plan separately. This policy will take effect on the date of departure from the United States, limited to a few days prior to host university orientation, and end at the completion of your exchange program, normally the last day to vacate your overseas residence. You must procure personal insurance if you plan to remain in your host country beyond this date.

The benefits of this plan differ from those offered by the EIIA Student Accident and Sickness Insurance plan. Please consult the policies for detailed benefit descriptions.

You may also be required to purchase additional insurance by the host institution per their institutional or national laws.

Please note that under the student health and foreign liability plans, students who are non United States citizens do not have this coverage while in their country of citizenship.
