Guidelines for Organizational Partnership with Service Learning
The agency:
- supports the mission of Centenary's Service-Learning program
- carries non-profit statue as described by the Internal Revenue Code-Section 501 (c) (3)
- places students to serve in areas not related to clerical, maintenance, or fundraising
- trains and supervises the Service-Learning student
- provides a safe environment in which the student serves
The student:
- understands the mission of Centenary's Service-Learning program
- attends an orientation/pre-flection before beginning a service project
- contibutes no less than 27 clock-hours of service in one and only one agency
- serves in projects not related to preaching or proselytizing
- serves in projects that do not benefit the College or the "College family"
- participates in the learning experience as defined by the department supervising the service
- receives no academic credit
- receives no monetary compensation
- answers the post-project questionnaire
The College:
- promotes the mission of Centenary's Service-Learning program
- disqualifies itself as the primary beneficiary of the service
