FIRST YEAR: DISCOVER

  • Explore your passions, values, skills and how they relate to majors & professions using our self-assessment tools
  • Meet with a career coach to talk about your self-assessments and being planning for your major and career
  • Investigate part-time, summer & volunteer opportunities

SECOND YEAR: EXPLORE & DECIDE

  • Explore and research different major and career options
  • Shadow an expert in a field of interest and conduct informational interviews
  • Choose and declare a major
  • Attend campus career fairs and workshops
  • Being putting together a professional resume and practice your interviewing skills
  • Obtain a summer internship or career-related experience
  • Meet with your career coach to make sure you are on track!

THIRD YEAR: COMMIT

  • Take on a leadership role in a student club or organization
  • Hone cover letter, resume writing, and interviewing skills
  • Participate in campus career fairs, etiquette dinner, and other opportunities to connect with employers
  • Obtain an internship or career-related experience
  • Begin graduate school planning
  • Meet regularly with your career coach to talk about career goals and get your resume updated

FOURTH YEAR: SEARCH

  • Develop a job search strategy and start early
  • Join a professional organization in your field
  • Participate in campus career fairs and view jobs online
  • Utilize online resources to identify and research job opportunities
  • Network and discuss career plan with faculty, counselors, and professionals in the field
  • If graduate school is your next step, begin your graduate school applications in the fall semester
