Any current Centenary College residential student desiring to live on campus for the 2008-2009 academic year has the opportunity to participate in Room Lottery. Room Lottery gives current residential students the option of choosing their living space for the 2008-2009 academic year.
All students planning to live on campus in 2008-09 (regardless of whether they care to participate in the Room Lottery) must print out, complete, and return the following forms:
by 4pm, March 31, 2008.
The Residence Life Office reminds all residents to choose their roommates wisely. Remember to discuss your living situation with your potential roommate, and make sure you are a good match! Students participating in Room Lottery forfeit the privilege of changing rooms for the following fall semester.
Alternatives to the Room Lottery
If you plan to live off of the Centenary campus, you must qualify for and complete forms for Off-Campus Housing.
If you want to keep the same room and same roommate(s), then you must complete the Same Room / Same Roommate Form. Since you'll also be living on campus, you also need to submit the 4 forms listed above, including the lottery application.
If you select either of these options, then you must submit the associated forms by 4pm, March 31, 2008.
About the Room Lottery
The Room Lottery Process (RLP) allows returning residential students who have submitted all Room Lottery material by March 31, 2008, to select their room & roommate for the 2008–2009 academic year. Your place in the RLP is based on the number of academic credits you have earned to date. The more credits you have, the better your earlier you will get to participate in the lottery, with ties broken by GPA (highest to lowest).
Almost all Centenary College residence hall rooms are designed to be shared by at least 2 people. Since everyone needs a roommate, we have created the RLP to favor those residents who have decided to live together as roommates next year. All (qualified) residents participating in Room Lottery are required to have their roommate with them when selecting a room so both sign-up together (remember, your roommate MUST "qualify" for selection). Both roommates will select a room at the lowest resident’s priority number, (example: if number 7 is selecting with number 83 as a roommate, both will choose at the assigned time for number 7).
Those without roommates will sign-up for any available room of their choice at the end of the RLS in the same priority order. The Residence Life Office will assign a roommate with each over the summer and send notification. Residents are encouraged to explore roommate options now with other current students instead of waiting to be assigned or consolidated with another student.
Those residents wishing to live in a Suite in Rotary Hall will be allowed to choose these areas only if they have the Suite filled to capacity at the time of Room Lottery.

Can't Make It? Use a Proxy!
If you cannot be present for any part of the Room Lottery process, you may designate another student as a substitute, your proxy. Your proxy will take your Centenary ID and sign you into a room/Suite (give your proxy several choices.) If you are going to use a proxy you have to notify the Residence Life Office in writing whom this person is before April 11th. Failure to do this will result in you not being able to select a room during Room Lottery.
Please note that you are giving your proxy the authority to select your room. All proxy selections are final.
