Any current Centenary College residential student desiring to live on campus for the 2009-2010 academic year has the opportunity to participate in Room Lottery. Room Lottery gives current residential students the option of choosing their living space for the 2009-2010 academic year.

All students planning to live on campus in 2009-10 (regardless of whether they care to participate in the Room Lottery) must red the changes to room lottery:

The Residence Life Office reminds all residents to choose their roommates wisely. Remember to discuss your living situation with your potential roommate, and make sure you are a good match! Students participating in Room Lottery forfeit the privilege of changing rooms for the following fall semester.

About the Room Lottery

Each person is assigned a classification based on their current hours (0-35, 36-59, 60-89, 90+). Only earned hours are included (classes you are currently enrolled in do not count). Within each class students are rank-ordered according to GPA. (so a Senior with a 1.0 GPA will be higher than a Junior with a 4.0). Students who have been convicted of a judicial violation are dropped to the bottom of their class. Students convicted of more than one incident will be dropped to the bottom of the lottery. If any students have concerns about lottery numbers and privacy they should contact Josh Coco in the Housing Office.

Almost all Centenary College residence hall rooms are designed to be shared by at least 2 people. Since everyone needs a roommate, we have created the RLP to favor those residents who have decided to live together as roommates next year. All (qualified) residents participating in Room Lottery are required to have their roommate with them when selecting a room so both sign-up together (remember, your roommate MUST "qualify" for selection). Both roommates will select a room at the lowest resident’s priority number, (example: if number 7 is selecting with number 83 as a roommate, both will choose at the assigned time for number 7).

Those without roommates will sign-up for any available room of their choice at the end of the RLS in the same priority order. The Residence Life Office will assign a roommate with each over the summer and send notification. Residents are encouraged to explore roommate options now with other current students instead of waiting to be assigned or consolidated with another student.

Those residents wishing to live in a Suite in Rotary Hall will be allowed to choose these areas only if they have the Suite filled to capacity at the time of Room Lottery.
