REQUISITOS EN ESPANOL
Spanish Major
- 22 hours (including Senior Seminar) in the major language numbered above 202, three of which must be selected from the conversation labs (211, 212, 311, 312).**
- Supportive courses
- Choose option I or II.
I. 9 semester hours (3 courses) in English (not including journalism courses) numbered above 102.
II. 6 semester hours (2 courses) in English (not including journalism courses) numbered above 102, and 3 semester hours (1 course) in history (preferably Spanish or Latin American history).
- 3 semester hours in Philosophy.
** Native speakers of Spanish should substitute another course for the conversation labs.
Spanish Minor
22 semester hours in Spanish. These hours must include the following courses.
- 6 semester hours (2 courses) numbered above 300. One of these courses must be a literature course.
- 2 semester hours selected from the conversation labs: 211, 212, 311, 312. **
** Native speakers of Spanish should substitute one 3 credit class for the conversation labs.
Business-Spanish Program
Students in this program receive a BS in business and a certificate attesting to their proficiency in Spanish.
- Required courses in Business/ Finance are 321, 323, 346, and 325.
- Required courses in Economics are 151, 303, 311, and 312.
- Required courses in Accounting are 203 and 204.
- Required courses in Spanish beyond 202 are 305, 307, and 2 courses numbered above 307. If students go abroad literature, history and business courses taken at the foreign university in Spanish may be used to fulfill these requirements. Consult with the Spanish Dept.
- Supportive Requirements:
- Math 109 or higher.
- Hist 341 or PSC 306.
