Dr. Harold R. Christensen
Interesting personal fact: Dr. Christensen is a "worker priest" pasturing at Saint Stephen Lutheran Church in Shreveport. He was also the principal oboist in the Tri-State Symphony in Enid, Okla. from 1963-1965.
Ask Dr. Christensen what he enjoys most about Centenary College, and you’ll likely get a quick answer. "The bond that is formed between the students and faculty," says Dr. Christensen, Professor of Economics at the Frost School of Business. "I still enjoy seeing and hearing from my students that I taught back in 1980."

He explains that other schools might offer the same courses that Centenary does which are organized in very similar ways. "But what makes us unique is in our ability to establish a bond between faculty and student. A dedicated faculty and gifted students, relating to each other under the double scrutiny of small classes and an Honor Code, create a unique environment in which to live and learn."
Dr. Christensen, who has been at Centenary since 1980, also enjoys the fact that he gets to teach a discipline he loves. It helps, he says, to be able to share knowledge with patience and empathy.
A published author, Dr. Christensen has had various works published in The Journal of Economics, The Southwest Economic Review, The Social Science Journal and The Encyclopedia of Keynesian Economics.
