Why did you choose Centenary?
I always wanted to go to Centenary (even when I was a little kid) because I knew that it was very well respected.
What is unique about Centenary?
It's really tiny! And it has a high concentration of outstanding professors who have a great personal interest in the well-being of their students.
Thoughts about Shreveport and the surrounding area? How about campus life?
I've lived in the Shreveport-Bossier area all my life. In the past 10 years the area has become much more interesting to live in. The venues are getting better and more diverse each year. It is a bit difficult to get to see musical acts in the area because most of the places they play require that one be 21 or older to enter— so even if you're 18, too bad. Honestly, campus life is a bit slow. Sometimes you have to get creative and entertain yourself.
How have you personally experienced Centenary? What does it mean to you?
Finding professors that are truly advocates for their students has fulfilled my idea of what Centenary is and advertises itself to be. This means a lot especially when you are struggling with a class or need to bounce ideas off a person who know the field well and can steer you in the appropriate direction.

What IS the Centenary Experience?
It's a lot like the college version of supper efficiency high concentrate detergent: it comes in small containers and you only need to use a little bit of it to get the job done really well. Centenary is the college experience in concentrate; you go to one meeting or activity and suddenly you're involved ALL over campus along with a full course load!
What is the most meaningful thing that has happened to you at Centenary?
Meeting professors that have really inspired what I want to study while I'm an undergrad and later-on in graduate school. Also, I've been very appreciative of the unique leadership opportunities I've been able to take on.
What are some of the cool things you’ve done lately at Centenary?
My service learning project with the Caddo Parish Animal Shelter was a lot of fun. Working with those animals was a great insight into a service provided to our community that often goes over looked. Also, I've been part of the group that has raised the funds to install solar panels on the roof of the library (Chains for Change event). Now I am planning a charity benefit 5K to raise more money. It's called the Kilowatt 5K and will be August 29th. The race course starts at the Gold Dome!!!!
