The Division of Student Development provides services, support, and recreational opportunities to help students meet the challenges of college and enhance the quality of their lives:
Office of Global Engagement
The Office of Global Engagement leads students in integrated learning opportunities by guiding them through intentional reflection on cultures different than their own, service to their local and global communities and diverse perspectives that enhance their view of the complex and ever-changing world around us.
Intercultural Engagement promotes and encourages the exploration and appreciation of different cultures on our campus and around the globe. Additionally, Intercultural Engagement also administers exchange programs for faculty/students between the college's many exchange partners.
Community Engagement integrates service to the greater community with classroom instruction, connection to academic content, and personal reflection. Community Engagement also offers and supports a number of programs for students, faculty, staff, alumni and other members of the Centenary Community to get involved with service efforts throughout the local and global community.
Office of Professional Discernment
The Office of Professional Discernment engages students in the integration of their values, academic interest and career goals. The Office has two distinct areas of operation:
Christian Leadership Center
The Christian Leadership Center (CLC) is an ecumenical, faith-based program committed to creating opportunities for Christian leadership development through the intersection of faith and academy. The CLC is dedicated to theological study, innovative leadership training, interreligious and interdenominational dialogue, issues of peace and justice, spiritual formation, Christian discipleship, and mission.
Professional Development provides helps students to discover their gifts and passions through career coaching. Mentored in the articulation of their values, students will have the opportunity to develop an understanding of meaningful life-work that expresses their values and meets needs in the world.
Religious Life on campus, coordinated through the Chaplainís Office, offers many opportunities across a diverse spectrum of faith perspectives, for students, faculty and staff to enrich their own spirituality through worship, Bible study, building relationships, prayer groups, discussion and hands on service/mission.
The Office of Student Life and the Dean of Students provide motivation, guidance, encouragement and support to students throughout their collegiate experience. Students may participate in a wide range of program opportunities that enhance their academic pursuit.
The Office of Campus Recreation strives to improve the quality of campus life for students, faculty/staff, and community members by providing a wide range of recreational activities, fitness classes, educational programs and open recreation programs.
Counseling & Disability Services
The Office of Counseling & Disability Services provides free, confidential, short-term counseling regarding personal issues. The Counseling Office also addresses a wide variety of other concerns, including adjustment to college life, making friends and motivation.
The Office of Health Services provides care and education to assist students as they learn to take responsibility for their own health and well-being. Emphasis is placed on the importance of preventing illness through a healthy lifestyle, as well as on helping students manage the health problems college students sometimes encounter.
Residence Life strives to help students develop their potential as individuals of integrity and tolerance. Students participate fully in the residential program and emerge prepared to function as leaders in a multicultural society.
Student Involvement facilitates learning experiences and leadership opportunities through participation in student organizations, social activities and other student-centered services.
