Listen to or download an interview conducted with Maria Lopez on 10/19/2008.

Maria Lopez is a Louisiana artist originally born in Honduras. Her artwork is inspired by Latin America, Native cultures, and stories told to her by her grandmother while growing up in Honduras. She defines her work as describing "enchanting legends of creation and the unity between humanity and nature." Her exhibit "Native Stories" is on display at the Meadows Museum of Art until Oct. 26.

We recently caught up with her during Family Fall Days at the Museum and spoke to her about her work, stories and the influence of her grandmother.
