Recording: Dr. Rose Van Thyn on the Holocaust
Holocaust survivor Rose Van Thyn of Shreveport has dedicated herself to retelling her story so that people will not forget or repeat the horrors that she, her family, and millions of others faced during World War II. For her extraordinary community service, Mrs. Van Thyn was awarded the honorary Doctor of Humane Letters at Centenary's 2002 commencement exercises. As an Attaway Fellow in Civic Culture, she regularly visits the campus and speaks to students about her experiences.
We caught up with "Dr. Rose," as she is affectionately called, during Dr. Lisa Nicoletti’s Holocaust class January 27, 2009.
