Community Federal Work-Study Program

Centenary College places a number of Federal Work-Study students to work within Non-Profit Service agencies in our local community on an annual basis.

Alumni Marty Vaughn

Each student is under contract with the College that determines the total numbers of hours that students can work during the year. Generally, students work eight to ten hours a week and their hourly wage is paid by the Federal Government and Centenary College.

An employee of the service agency must interview the student before accepting them for work-study and must supervise them while they serve at the agency. The Federal Government requires a signed contract between the agency and the College. Students are responsible for work-study timesheets that are to be completed and signed by both the student and the agency supervisor before it is turned in to the Director of Service-Learning.
