Embedding a Google Photos Slideshow / Web Album
Google Photos, AKA Picasaweb, tied to the wonderful Picasa photo editor/manager, allows you to retrieve snippets of html for use as embeddable slideshows. To use them on a wiki page, you need only insert the Google-provided html (get it from your album's webpage) within an
block, as shown below.

Blah, blah, blah.
<embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf" width="400" height="267" flashvars="host=picasaweb.google.com &RGB=0x000000&feed=http%3A%2F%2F picasaweb.google.com%2Fdata%2Ffeed%2Fapi%2Fuser%2Fwww.centenary.edu%2F albumid%2F5005492327537993489%3Fkind%3Dphoto%26alt%3Drss" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed>
More blah, blah, blah. |
Blah, blah, blah. More blah, blah, blah. |
Notes
Naturally, the "blah, blah, blah" in the example is not required. It's merely there to illustrate that you can have any normal wiki content before and after the
...
construct.
Make sure that your slideshow is marked as "public" within Picasaweb (you can set this attribute when you upload the your web gallery/slideshow photos from Picasa software or the Picasa iPhoto plugin.
You can use a very similar method to embed Google Video and/or YouTube videos.
