Join us for a community wide day of service!
BIG Event 12 is Saturday, March 23, 2019.
Volunteers will need to report to Kilpatrick Auditorium. Check-in occurs between 7:30 am - 8:15 am. Assignments will be given at that time. Please wear comfortable and appropriate clothing for community service.
Upon completion of the service day, participants will be provided lunch around Noon.
Our Purpose and Origin
At the BIG Event, students, faculty, staff, and alumni all come together to act as neighbors helping neighbors. Together, we work to beautify the surrounding neighborhoods of Centenary College, to show our gratitude for their support of our community, and to allow us to give back and connect with the Shreveport community. Volunteers have the opportunity to choose from various helpful activities, including exterior home improvement, basic landscaping, and inside services.
Community engagement at Centenary is a really important part of the College's culture. Students begin with a service day during first year orientation and continue that momentum throughout the year. I am honored to serve as a member of the Big Event Executive Board which allows students, like myself, to help design service days that provide more opportunities to serve our wonderful community.
