The Christian Leadership Center (CLC) is pleased to announce that Reverend Roderick Dewayne Belin will join the Centenary College community as the keynote speaker for the 13th Annual CLC Fundraising Dinner. The dinner at Centenary’s Fitness Center will be Thursday, March 21, at 6:00 p.m.

With over 30 years of Christian ministry, Rev. Belin has traveled across the United States and the world, where he preached, counseled, facilitated workshops, and ministered in song. His ministry is characterized by love, mutuality, and respect for all people and advocacy for justice and liberation by “restoring the poor, reclaiming the lost, realizing the vision, releasing the captive, and revealing God’s Favor.”

Rev. Belin is a third-generation minister in the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church, a 2014 inductee to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Board of Preachers at Morehouse College, and recently named Pastor of the Year by the Tennessee Tribune.

“We can’t wait for another successful Fundraising Dinner this year,” says Rev. Lindy Broderick, chaplain and director of the Christian Leadership Center. “We are so pleased to be able to bring Rev. Belin to Centenary, as he is the President of the Publishing House for the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church which produces all of the curriculum for the entire AME church. The AME church is within the Methodist family and has a membership in twenty Episcopal Districts in 39 countries on five continents. Centenary’s CLC class is focused on the topic of Servant Leadership this year and Rev. Belin is an ideal keynote speaker to address this topic with our students, faculty, staff, and friends of Centenary College.”

Since its founding in 1974, the Christian Leadership Center (CLC), originally the church careers program, has been a faith-based, co-curricular program committed to creating opportunities for Christian leadership development through the intersection of faith and academy. “In the three years I have been a part of CLC, my relationship with God has grown as well as my confidence in my faith,” says Centenary student Maddie Fremen ‘19. “Through temenos groups and the friends I have made in CLC, I have found a God-given confidence in myself to continue to share His word and reach others. CLC gives me opportunities to be the person God has called me to be.” CLC has continued to develop wise, caring, and moral leaders through creative teaching, caring small groups, and worthwhile internships. “It is a community of Christian leaders ready and excited to share the word of God, and this fundraiser gives us that opportunity,” says Fremen.
