Centenary College awards credit for Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), and the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) according to the following policies:

  • Credit earned from AP, IB, or CLEP exams is considered transfer credit and will not affect a student’s grade point average.
  • There is no limit to the number of AP, IB, or CLEP credit awarded to incoming students. However, all students must complete 60 credit hours at Centenary to graduate with a Centenary degree.
  • Each academic department determines whether and how course credit will be awarded for AP, IB, and CLEP credit in their discipline. Exams accepted and score requirements are reviewed periodically and subject to change. See the Centenary academic catalog for current guidelines.
  • Credit may only be earned for exams taken prior to initial enrollment at Centenary College.
