The Centenary Piano Preparatory Program is for students aged 5-18, focused on providing a well-rounded musical education of theory, technique, and performance. Lessons are scheduled by student/teacher availability and meet once a week at Centenary.

Goals

We are committed to excellence - in expectations, in teaching, and in performance opportunities with the following goals:

  1. Provide a well-rounded musical education to every student through the study of technique, theory, sight-reading, ear training, and artistic expression.
  2. Prepare students to participate in all categories of LMTA Rally each year: theory, keyboard skills, sight-reading, and performance.
  3. Have all students perform in a recital, festival, or competition at least once each semester.
  4. Meet each child where they are and nurture an enduring love of music with kindness and fun.
  5. Foster in each student a sense of personal responsibility, accomplishment, and self-confidence at the piano.
