25th Annual Centenary Student Research Forum opens April 8

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary students will present original research in the social sciences, natural sciences, and the humanities at the College's 25th annual Student Research Forum on April 8 and 15. The annual forum sponsored by the Douglas F. and Marion S. Attaway Foundation includes both poster and oral presentations.

Poster presentations and judging will take place on Friday, April 8 between 2:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on the second floor of Mickle Hall on the Centenary campus. Students showcasing research in chemistry and biology will join those presenting theatre projects.

The research forum continues on Friday, April 15 with oral presentations and judging in Carlile Auditorium (Mickle 114). The schedule for oral presentations is:

Social Sciences (Economics, Psychology, Sociology): 2:00 p.m. to 2:40 p.m.
Natural Sciences (Biology, Chemistry): 2:50 p.m. to 3:10 p.m.
Humanities (English, Music, Theatre, Religious Studies): 3:20 p.m. to 4:20 p.m.

A panel of judges will review the display and content of the posters as well as oral presentation skills for the students participating in the April 8 poster competition. Oral presenters on April 15 will be evaluated on presentation, project content, and effectiveness in a question-and-answer session. Cash prizes will be awarded to the best work in both the poster and oral competitions.
