Artist to deliver virtual talk at Meadows Museum

SHREVEPORT – On February 23, 2022, at 5:30 p.m., artist Libby Rowe will deliver an artist talk on her installation at the Meadows Museum, Taming the Chaotic Mind. The virtual talk will be held on Zoom.

Taming the Chaotic Mind is a collection of silhouettes of everyday items, such as laundry and children on swings. They are covered with imagery and text and hang from the gallery ceiling and walls. Contained within the gallery walls, the overwhelming installation gives physical embodiment to the chaos of Rowe’s constant inner dialogue.

Rowe’s art ranges across photography, sculpture, interactive installation, and performance. She uses her artwork to “explore ideas of identity and belonging through self-definitions as told by social and domestic constructs.” She is interested in breaking from traditional ways of presentation for photographs to engage viewers in a more interactive experience. Her work has been exhibited extensively across the US and abroad.
