Centenary “Beast Feast” fundraiser returns May 18

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Centenary Alumni Association hosts its third annual “Beast Feast 2019: Surf, Turf, and More!” on Saturday, May 18, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Centenary’s Jones Rice Field. Beast Feast is a unique, festival style culinary event featuring wild game, seafood, and other “off the menu” items prepared by local backyard chefs and popular restaurateurs.

The event is presented by title sponsor Regions Bank and all proceeds benefit the Centenary Fund for Student Scholarships.

“We expect Beast Feast 2019 to be even bigger than the past two years,” says Saige Solomon, director of alumni and family relations at Centenary. “Many of our previous sponsors have returned this year to support the event but we also welcome a number of new sponsors including Henson Carpet One, the Louisiana Beef Industry Council, Kings Hawaiian, A.E. Robertson, and Inspired Closets Shreveport-Bossier!”

The Office of the Lt. Governor and the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board is returning as a partner for the second year by providing a generous donation of Louisiana seafood which includes crawfish, catfish, shrimp, oysters, and crab, all to be prepared by area restaurants and backyard chefs. Additionally, the Louisiana Beef Industry Council is providing a variety of cuts of beef to be prepared by volunteer chefs. In addition to seafood and beef, attendees can expect to sample wild boar tacos, Taziki’s signature pasta and hummus, and much more. A full list of chefs and cook teams is available at centenary.edu/beastfeast.

Individual tickets for Beast Feast are $25 in advance and $40 at the door. Advance tickets are available at centenary.edu/beastfeast. All tickets include sample-sized food portions from all vendors, unlimited soda and bottled water, and a commemorative koozie, 16oz plastic cup, and tasting tray. Premium craft beer will also be available for purchase. Children 12 and under are free and can enjoy games and activities in the Cosse Silmon Kid Zone.
