Rachael Peters

SHREVEPORT, LA — Rachael Peters, director of career services at Centenary, has been chosen as a “40 Under Forty” honoree by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals Initiative, recognizing her professional achievements, leadership, and community involvement. The 40 honorees will be recognized at the annual “40 Under Forty” gala at the Shreveport Convention Center on December 1, and one will be named the 2018 Young Professional of the Year.

Peters has served as director of career services at Centenary since 2014. She is certified as a master human resources management practitioner by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and is currently working toward a Ph.D. in leadership studies with a business/human resources emphasis.

Peters serves the community as a member of the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier, the Northwest Louisiana SHRM chapter, the American Association of University Women, and the Human Rights Campaign. She is also the founding president of the Shreveport-Bossier City Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi and currently serves as treasurer for the chapter.

“It is such an honor to be selected in this year’s 40 Under Forty class,” says Peters. “I am proud to represent Centenary along with the community I love.”

Centenary alumni Sherricka Fields Jones ’05 and Adam Philley ’08 were also honored in the 2018 “40 Under Forty” class. Fields Jones is assistant chief administrative officer for the City of Shreveport, and Philley is director of music ministries at Broadmoor United Methodist Church. He is also an adjunct professor at Centenary’s Hurley School of Music, teaching piano and voice.

Profiles of all 40 honorees were published in the November 7, 2018 issue of The Forum Magazine.
