Centenary Choir presents “Rhapsody in View” Concert on Nov. 7 and 8

The Centenary College Choir will present its annual “Rhapsody in View” concert Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 8, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Shreveport. The concert is open to the public.

“Rhapsody in View” has been presented every year since 1949 and is the centerpiece of the Choir’s concert season. The Choir has performed in more than 35 countries. Last fall’s concert was part of Centenary’s bicentennial celebration. It brought more than 200 alumni singers back to the stage and premiered the bicentennial anthem “Labor Omnia Vincit” by alumnus and faculty member Dr. James Eakin.

The concert is co-sponsored by the Downtown Shreveport Lions Club. Proceeds support the club’s charitable work and the Centenary College Choir.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Non-school-age children are admitted free. Tickets are available from Choir members, Downtown Shreveport Lions Club members and the Hurley School of Music at 318-869-5235. For more information, email music@centenary.edu.
