Centenary College announces 2018 Alumni Awards

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Centenary College Alumni Association will honor alumni and friends for achievements and service to the College at its annual Alumni Awards Dinner during Homecoming week in early November. The dinner is Thursday, November 8 at 6:00 p.m. in the Edwin F. Whited Room in Bynum Commons. The ceremony is returning to its original dinner format after several years as a luncheon.

“The Alumni Office is looking forward to this evening event as part of our expanded week-long Homecoming celebration,” says Saige Solomon, director of alumni and family relations at Centenary. “This format will allow more time for honorees and their families to enjoy the awards ceremony without the time constraints that a weekday luncheon provides.”

The Alumni Awards Dinner honors alumni and friends who have brought distinction to the College in several areas. The 2018 honorees include:

Alumni Hall of Fame – Marty Vaughn ‘66
Alumni Loyalty Award – Patty Lindsey ‘60
Young Alumni Leadership Award – Patrick Cole ‘06
Honorary Alumna – Dr. Gale Odom
Athletic Hall of Fame – Martha Chaney Siskron ‘96
Honorary Athletic Letter – Centenary Muses
Bentley Sloane Award (Christian Leadership Center Alumni Award) – Dawson Boone Taylor ‘01

“This year’s awards recipients are a distinguished group of alumni and friends,” says Solomon. “We are pleased to add them to the long list of incredible Centenary community members who have been honored before them.”

Individual tickets for the dinner are $30 and reserved tables seating eight are $300. For more information and to purchase tickets and tables, contact Saige Solomon at ssolomon@centenary.edu.
