Centenary hosts 2016 SCAC basketball tournament

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College will host the 2016 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments from Friday-Sunday, February 26-28.

Schedule
The men's two quarterfinal games will be at 1 and 3 p.m. on Friday, February 26, with the women's quarterfinal action at 5 and 7 p.m. on Friday night. The semifinals on Saturday, February 27, for the men and women will be at the same times as the first day.

The two remaining men's teams will play the SCAC Championship game on Sunday, February 28, at noon. The two remaining women's teams will play in the Conference Championship game at 2:30 p.m.

Admission
Admission will be $5 per day of the tournament. Everyone with a valid Centenary ID (faculty, staff, and students) will receive free admission. In addition, all students with valid ID from all other SCAC institutions will also receive free admission.

Free live audio, video, and statistics will be available for every game. Centenary will welcome back alumnus Chad Nelson, who will provide play-by-play the entire weekend on College Sports Ticket. Conference coaches will join Nelson throughout the tournament as guests to provide insight about the current action and talk about their respective teams.

Parking
In addition to hosting the basketball tournaments, Centenary's baseball and tennis teams have home events this weekend. The Diamond Gents battle Schreiner University at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 26, before playing a doubleheader on Saturday, February 27, beginning at 1 p.m.

Tennis will play two matches on Saturday, when LeTourneau and LSU-Shreveport visit Centenary. The first match against the YellowJackets begins at noon, while LSUS will battle the Ladies at 3:30 p.m.

With limited parking near the Gold Dome, fans should take advantage of using Lot 6 and Lot 7 (Woodlawn and behind Centenary Square) and Lot 8 (next to the Smith Building).

All-Conference Award Ceremony
All-Conference selections will be released by the conference office on Saturday, February 27. The All-Conference Men's Teams will be recognized at the SCAC Basketball Tournament on February, February 27, following the second men's semifinals game. The All-Conference Women's Team will be recognized at the SCAC Basketball Tournament on Saturday, February 27, following the second women's semi-final game.
