Maj. Gen. Armagost to deliver keynote at Centenary’s Veterans Day Tribute

Centenary College invites local veterans and their friends and families to attend a Veterans Day Tribute on November 11 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hargrove Memorial Amphitheatre known as “The Shell.” The keynote address will be delivered by Major General Jason R. Armagost, Commander of the Eighth Air Force and Joint-Global Strike Operations Center, Barksdale Air Force Base.

Armagost is a decorated military leader. According to his official biography, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the United States Air Force Academy and has logged thousands of hours in the B-2A, B-52H, T-38A, and other aircraft. He also holds a Master’s degree in Counseling and Leadership from the University of Colorado. Before coming to Barksdale, Maj. Gen. Armagost commanded the 13th Bomb Squadron at Whiteman AFB, Missouri; the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot AFB, North Dakota; and the 379th Air Expeditionary Win in Qatar. He is credited for his leadership in operations Desert Strike, Enduring Freedom and more where he earned more than 400 combat hours.

The Centenary College Choir will perform during the Veterans Day Tribute. Veterans among Centenary’s student body, faculty, administration, and staff will be recognized.

The event is free and open to the public. Guests should park in Centenary Lot 13 at the corner of Centenary Boulevard and Rutherford Street. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved inside Anderson Auditorium at Centenary’s Hurley School of Music.
