Meadows Museum of Art announces spring 2024 exhibition schedule

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Meadows Museum of Art at Centenary College will host seven exhibitions during the spring of 2024. All exhibitions are free and open to the public.

Divine Inspiration: A Collection from Three Perspectives on God, Giants, and G.O.A.T.s by KaDavien Baylor, Eric Francis, and Ron Smith, will be featured in the Museum’s main gallery for the length of the semester, opening January 16 and closing May 3.

The Meadows’ upstairs galleries will first feature Sound + Light by Craig Colorusso, running through March 8, followed by Sketch // Comic: The Making of Duck and Moose by Kirk Reedstrom ’16, and exhibitions created by Centenary’s graduating art majors from April 1 through May 3.

The Museum’s monthly rotating Project Space Gallery will begin the semester with Dr. Dopson’s Cabinet of Possibly Artistic Curiosities by Clif Dopson, which will close on February 9. It will be followed by Expressions by Caddo Magnet High School’s Fine Arts Department from February 14 through March 9, and Collage Poetry by Centenary students from March 12 through April 20.

A preview reception featuring Divine Inspiration, Sound + Light, and Dr. Dopson’s Cabinet will be held on Friday, January 12, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The reception is free and open the public and will feature light refreshments and a cash bar.

The Meadows will open with regular hours beginning January 16 through May 3.

“This semester’s exhibition schedule features a breadth of mediums, subject matter, and experiences,” said Alissa Klaus, director of the Meadows Museum. “Baylor, Francis, and Smith provide this semester’s featured exhibition, while Colorusso and Reedstrom’s exhibitions bring in more experiential and interactive opportunities for visitors. Our ever-changing Project Space Gallery highlights our talented local and student artists, showcasing paintings, poetry, miniatures, and more.
