Meadows Museum of Art plans special events for members

SHREVEPORT  – Centenary’s Meadows Museum of Art will host two events for museum members in April 2022. Following the launch of a new membership program in October 2021, these events will welcome both current and prospective members to the Museum, and provide an opportunity for prospective members to purchase a membership.

A Member Event and Exhibition Preview will be held Monday, April 4, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Museum. Attendees will be the first to see the Project Space Gallery’s newest installation, Instant Memory: The Polaroids of Andy Warhol. This exhibition is curated by Centenary students Anna Jane Storms (’23) and Jae Tuggle (’25). Two other exhibitions, Taming the Chaotic Mind by Libby Rowe and The Southern Art Collection of Eric Hess & Frank Thaxton, will be open for viewing as well. Light refreshments will be served.

A Student Member Event will be held Friday, April 22, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Museum. The event is for current Centenary and local high school students, who receive free “Silver Bayou Patron” level memberships to the Meadows. The event will feature light snacks and a variety of activities including crafts and opportunities to interact with the current exhibitions. This event will help introduce students to the Meadows and celebrate the first student-curated show in the Project Space Gallery. Any students who are not yet members but wish to sign up for the free membership will be able to do so at the Student Member Event.
