Shreveport Art Club exhibition opens at Meadows Museum of Art

Pastel by Judy Horne

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Meadows Museum of Art at Centenary College invites the public to the opening reception of Nature's Wonders, featuring works by the Shreveport Art Club, on Monday, October 16, at 6:00 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public.

Founded in 1921 with a rich history of promoting art and culture in the city, the Shreveport Art Club continues to foster artistic expression in our community. Nature’s Wonders features original artworks inspired by nature made within the last two years by Art Club members.

The opening reception will include remarks from Art Club members, the artist awarded Best of Show, and the exhibition’s judge Marian Ichaso Lefeld. Lefeld is a Venezuelan artist in Dallas, Texas, who creates mixed-media art inspired by the Modernist architecture of Caracas, Venezuela’s capital city. Her work vividly conveys Venezuela's complex landscape and history through vibrant colors, reflecting her deep emotional ties to her homeland.
