Earning Passport Points

How to find Passport Point Events

There are two main ways to find events that have Passport Points:

1. Read the weekly e-newsletter, What's Happening. It is sent out to all students on Sunday nights about events taking place on campus that are open to all students. In order for an event to be included in the What's Happening and to receive Passport Points, all events must be on Engage at least 10 days prior to the event.

2. Find events on Engage: log into Engage with your Centenary credentials (username is your full Centenary email, Password is your email password). Once logged in, click VIEW MORE EVENTS. You can filter events on the left side of the screen by dates, themes, categories, and perks. To find events eligible for Passport Points, click Perks then Credit. It will show all events where Credit is listed as a Perk.

Passport Points Troubleshooting

If YOU DON’T SEE A PASSPORT POINTS CODE:

1. Ask the event organizer where the code is located. Note that not all events have Passport Points. Event organizers who request codes from the Passport Points office are responsible for posting them. Some people may put out codes only at certain point in the program or presentation.

2. Codes may only be displayed at specific times during an event or presentation. Be sure to ask if this is the case.

3. Events listed on Engage as granting “Credit” provide Passport Points; check to see if this event is featured on Engage. If it is and there is no code, follow up with the event organizer.

IF THE CODE IS WORKING FOR OTHERS BUT NOT FOR YOU

1. CHECK YOUR STUDENT ID NUMBER. In most cases the issue is the entry of the student number. Please double check before hitting the submit button to ensure the number listed exactly matches that on your Student ID card, INCLUDING THE THREE LEADING ZEROS (or 999 for some students). Ensure there are no blank spaces at the beginning or end of your number.

2. If the code no longer works but was working earlier, that means the Passport Points window (which may not always match the event length) has closed.

3. Check the event code when you log in. It may be longer than what is printed on the sign, but should otherwise match. Find and remove blank spaces at the beginning or end of the code.

4. Try clearing all cookies from your web browser, close all apps and browser windows, and ensure that location tracking is on. The system tracks location to verify you are at the event.

5. Take a photo of yourself in front of the Passport Point QR code and email it to passportpoints@centenary.edu so that we can check your account and credit the points to your account. Be sure to send the email before the event ends to receive credit.

6. Recurring issues? Schedule a follow-up meeting with Ricki Rebollar or Mark Miller if this occurs more than once. Email the photo during the event and then make an appointment so that we can help you resolve this issue and prevent future problems.

IF THE CODE DOESN’T WORK FOR ANYONE

1. Wait and try again or ask the event organizer. Some codes are active for only part of the event, such as only at the beginning (to reward punctuality) or only at the end (to encourage staying until the event concludes). 2. Email passportpoints@centenary.edu to alert us. Code creators are human and there may have been an error when generating the code. Email a picture of you in front of the code before the event ends, and we’ll fix the problem for everyone if we can and will also make sure you get your points.

IF YOU SCAN IN BUT IT SHOWS THAT YOU EARNED ZERO POINTS FOR THIS EVENT

You’ve reached the point limit. Congratulations! If you hit the maximum (500 points for the semester or 2000 lifetime points), you’re now automatically enrolled in the Above and Beyond perks program. Each time you scan in, you’ll earn additional entries to win prizes. Other questions? Check centenary.edu/PassportPoints for all the info or email passportpoints@centenary.edu.
