Centenary is one of 40 prestigious universities and colleges throughout Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas chosen by Brookshire Grocery Company to receive a “Focus on the Future” a scholarship endowment.

Starting Fall 2022, Centenary College students will be eligible for the new “Focus on the Future” scholarship established by Brookshire Grocery Company. Centenary is one of 40 prestigious universities and colleges throughout Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas chosen by Brookshire Grocery Company to receive a “Focus on the Future” scholarship endowment. “We are very excited to launch a lasting program which will help thousands of students achieve their dreams for years to come,” said Brad Brookshire, chairman and CEO for Brookshire Grocery Co. “We support our local communities and value education, which is one of our top philanthropic efforts. So many families and individuals have been financially impacted by the pandemic. We are proud to be able to help those aspiring towards their dreams.”

Designed to reward students for their hard work, dedication and outstanding academic achievements, the Brookshire’s and Super 1 Foods “Focus on the Future” endowed scholarship will be available to students enrolled at Centenary starting fall 2021. To qualify, students must be enrolled full-time, pursuing a business or communications degree and in good academic standing with the College with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
“Brookshire’s investment in the life of the College through this endowed scholarship will expand opportunities for students to benefit from the superior liberal arts education that Centenary provides,” said Fred Landry, vice president for development. “We are so grateful for their partnership in helping to advance the mission of the College.”
