The Department of Theatre and Dance (see faculty) offers two theatre degrees: Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and the Minor in Theatre. In addition, the department offers a variety of dance classes and oversees various performance groups. We seek to serve three types of students: those who plan to attend graduate school, those who plan to teach, and those who plan to pursue a career in the profession or to use their training for vocational recreation.
The department, producing most of its shows at Majorie Lyons Playhouse, provides cultural enrichment for the College and the community through its "theatre and dance with a purpose." Participation in the productions of the department is open to any student enrolled at Centenary College.
