Centenary College MAT Praxis Requirements

In order to be admitted into any of the MAT programs offered at Centenary College, students must take and pass Praxis exams testing both basic academic skills for teaching candidates and their knowledge of the content of the area in which they are seeking certification. An additional Praxis test (or two for Escadrille students) on pedagogy is required before students may begin residency. Students are encouraged to take this pedagogy test during the first year of the program. To register for an exam, visit www.ets.org/praxis.

Candidates with a composite ACT score of at least 22 or an SAT combined verbal/critical reading and math score of 1100 or higher (new SAT) or 1030 or higher (pre-March 2016 SAT), or candidates with an earned Master’s degree may substitute these credentials for Praxis I scores.
