The Clinton School of Public Service
A master’s degree in public service prepares students to foster community development and social change, whether they work as a lawyer, doctor, businessperson, counselor, minister, or in a nonprofit. The Clinton School is the first school in the nation to offer this advanced degree, and they have partnered with Centenary to offer our students with a GPA of 3.5 or better guaranteed admission. For more information about the Clinton School and Centenary, contact Chris Ciocchetti in the Philosophy Department.
Honors Projects
Qualified Centenary students may pursue honors in their majors in conjunction with the Clinton School of Public Service. A faculty member from the Clinton School of Public Service will serve as the outside faculty member on the committee. Students will develop a project proposal for a public, private, or non-profit organization.1 This will include academic research and research on the nonprofit, business, or public entity. They will ultimately write a report defending their proposal. This is like the first step of work they would do as master’s students in public service. Students will have the opportunity to visit the Clinton School to meet with the faculty member and students pursuing master’s degrees in public service. The details of each proposal will need to be worked out by the student and faculty involved.
If you have a student interested in pursuing an honors project in conjunction with the Clinton School, please let Chris Ciocchetti know as early as possible in the process so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
Scholarships and Financial Aid at The Clinton School
The Clinton School of Public Service offers financial aid to a limited number of its master’s students. Our students will be well-qualified to win these awards.
1Though this proposal may be for a public, private, or non-profit, it must “foster community development and social change” to qualify.
