Professional Development Funds Funds to support professional and scholarly activities of full-time faculty; annual amount specified by Provost’s Office Complete Professional Development Plan on FDC website in early Fall, before spending money. Mattie Allen Broyles Inaugural Year Research Chair Research support for first-year faculty (course release OR research funds) July 1 of summer before faculty member starts at Centenary October 15
Charlton H. Lyons Research Award $2,500 in research funds February 1 October 15
Faculty Research Awards Up to $1,000 in research funds; awards available in both fall and spring October 1 (two awards), February 1 (one award) October 15
Student-Faculty Research Awards Stipends: $3,500 for faculty, $2,500 for students
Research funds: may be available up to $1,000

Sabbatical Leave One semester full salary or two semesters half salary; full-time faculty who have not had a sabbatical leave in past 6 years may apply November 1 Written report & public presentation the semester following sabbatical leave

* If the listed due dates fall on weekends or holidays, proposals will be due the next working day. If any Faculty Research Awards or Student-Faculty Research Awards remain available after the initial review of proposals following each deadline, additional proposals will be considered on a rolling basis until all available awards have been granted or April 1.
