Centenary Athletic Club established

Recognizing the need for broad support from alumni and friends of the College for Centenary’s ongoing success on the court and the field, the Centenary Athletic Club (CAC) was recently founded as a means to help raise additional resources for special projects that impact Centenary student athletes. In addition to raising funds, the CAC also aims to enhance the relationship between the College’s athletic programs and its alumni and friends. “I want to do whatever I can to help support my alma mater, and the opportunity to help make an impact on our athletes’ success is a source of pride for me when it comes to being an active alumnus,” said Rob Rubel ‘02, Centenary Athletic Club Board President.

“The CAC represents a huge step forward in allowing donors to support special projects in support of specific athletic programs,” said Rubel. ” In the 2018 fiscal year, the CAC raised $65,000 in support of needs identified by Centenary coaches as essential enhancements to their respective programs.”

There are several ways for supporters to get involved with the Athletics department at Centenary College. Donors can support a specific sport, split their gift among several programs, or give to the Centenary Athletic Club Fund, which supports all Centenary Athletics. A gift of any amount to the CAC automatically qualifies donors as a member of the Centenary Athletic Club.

“The athletic experience plays an enormous role in shaping the individual as well as shaping the overall college experience for our student athletes,” said Rubel. “These folks will be spending most of their time on the field, playing and practicing, as well as a large amount of time with their teammates and coaches. Assuring there is more than adequate financial support will undoubtedly allow for the best possible experience for Centenary’s student athletes and will leave a lasting impact on their lives.”
