Centenary business student recognized for achievements

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary student Jordan Danzell, a senior majoring in business administration with concentrations in leadership and investments and a minor in accounting, was recently honored with two awards. Danzell maintains a 4.0 GPA and will graduate in May 2024 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. Danzell is a native of Bossier City and a graduate of Airline High School.

Danzell was chosen as a recipient of the U.L. Coleman Companies scholarship, an annual award given to an outstanding student studying business, finance, or economics at Centenary College or Louisiana State University – Shreveport. U.L. Coleman, a real estate company based in Shreveport, established the scholarship in 1993 in celebration of its 20th anniversary. The award is designed to assist outstanding students who are preparing to enter a professional real estate related field.

Danzell was also recognized by the CFA Society Mississippi with an annual award given to the top finance student in the society’s territory, which includes Shreveport and Centenary. The CFA Society Mississippi Award was presented at the society’s 20th Annual Forecast Dinner in Jackson, Mississippi, on February 22. Dr. Barbara Davis, dean of Centenary’s Frost School of Business, was able to attend along with Danzell’s mother and sister.

"Jordan is a remarkable student in so many ways,” said Davis. “She is inquisitive, diligent, focused, gifted, incredibly brilliant and scholarly. She is a model student who will make a difference in whatever endeavor she pursues."

At Centenary, Danzell has served as a portfolio manager for the Student Managed Investment Fund, as vice president of publicity and records for the Student Government Association, and as president of the Centenary College Panhellenic Council. She is a member of Centenary’s Maroon Jacket senior honorary society, the national college honor society Alpha Chi, and Sigma Beta Delta, the international honor society for business, management, and administration. She has appeared on the Dean’s List during every semester of her college career.

Following her graduation from Centenary in May 2024, Danzell will join Maven Royalty Partners in Shreveport as a financial analyst.
