SHREVEPORT, LA — The Centenary College Choir takes its talents on the road with a three day tour at the end of January. Scheduled stops in both Louisiana and Texas will showcase the Choir’s unique repertoire and spirited performance style.

"In addition to a wonderful musical experience, our tour concerts are great opportunities for audiences to connect with Centenary," says director Dr. David Hobson. "There's always something for everyone in a Centenary Choir concert, and our anniversary program this year is quintessentially so."

The tour kicks off close to home on Friday, January 27 with a 7:00 p.m. performance at St. Jude Catholic Church in Benton. On Saturday, January 28, the group travels to Sulphur, Louisiana for a 6:00 p.m. concert at Henning Memorial United Methodist Church.  The Choir will participate in two morning worship services at First United Methodist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana on Sunday, January 29 before traveling to Houston, Texas for a 4:30 p.m. concert at Westbury United Methodist Church.

Established in 1941, the Choir is the oldest and largest ensemble at Centenary College and celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2016. The group sings a diverse repertoire of music from classical to casual, making an international tour every other year. Nicknamed "America's Singing Ambassadors" by the press, the Choir has toured throughout the world, representing Centenary College to audiences in 32 countries on 6 continents.
