Centenary student's work advances to National American Advertising Federation Awards

Savannah Stowers ('26) was awarded a Gold District AAA for 713 Prime Restaurant from AAF D10 Governor, Austin Sandy, and District AAA Chair, Sophie Rogers.

Artwork by recent Centenary graduate, Savannah Stowers (’26), will advance for judging in the National American Advertising Federation (AAF) Awards at the end of May. The National AAF awards is the industry’s largest competition.

Last month, Stowers, as well as alumnae Jordan Fong (’24) and Dellanee Wade (’16), received top honors at the American Advertising Federation Tenth District’s annual conference in Dallas, TX. The conference brings together advertising professionals, educators, and students from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana to network and recognize excellence. Nearly 20 colleges and universities participated, showcasing top student talent.

Stowers earned two gold District American Advertising Awards in the student division for her cross-platform campaign and logo for 713 Prime Restaurant, advancing to the national competition.

“I feel so blessed to be able to win such amazing awards at the district level, and it just proves that Centenary College can truly help you achieve amazing success that will help me in the future for my career,” said Stowers.  “I was able to do this with the best guidance and support provided by Professor Jessica Hawkins, and I believe there will be more achievements to come.”

Wade was honored at the 2026 District 10 MOSAIC Awards, which recognize outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion. Wade received the MOSAIC Champion award for her ongoing support of diversity and inclusion through mentorship, leadership, and program initiatives. She currently serves as President and Louisiana State Representative of the Shreveport-Bossier chapter AAF chapter.

“What makes these achievements so rewarding and meaningful is that we all come from this impeccable institution called Centenary, which is a testament to the value of liberal arts education,” said Wade. “I am honored to have had the amazing professors, especially Jessica Hawkins, who molded us into some of the most passionate, pacesetting, and visionary creatives, making our marks in this industry. I am proud of the digital footprints we are leaving as we pave the way for others, as she paved the way for all of us who were there that weekend. She deserves all the flowers.”

During the final event of the regional conference, Fong received two awards at the Evening of Excellence Dinner from the District Governor: Special Governor’s Award for Collaboration and Committee of the Year for Governor Relations. During her time on the executive board of AAFSB, she demonstrated teamwork and community collaboration with other Louisiana AAF chapters to organize the upcoming Louisiana Day at the Capitol event for the advertising community in May.

"These awards reflect not only the exceptional talent and work ethic of our students and alumni, but also the strength of a liberal arts education that encourages curiosity, adaptability, collaboration, and creative problem-solving," said Jessica Hawkins, associate professor of graphic design at Centenary College. "Savannah, Jordan, and Dellanee represent the kind of thoughtful, strategic, and socially engaged creatives our program strives to develop, and it is incredibly rewarding to see their work recognized at the district and national levels."
