Meadows Museum of Art to host artist talk January 31

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Meadows Museum of Art will host an artist talk featuring Teddy Graves, Centenary class of 2026, on Friday, January 31, at 6:00 p.m. Graves’s solo exhibition Gamut is on view in the museum’s Project Space Gallery through February 14. The work on display and the artist talk deal with the topic of sexual assault.

Hailing from the small town of Huttig, Arkansas, Graves balances acrylic paintings with digital art, often exploring self-portraiture as a means to navigate and communicate their emotional experiences. “For a long time, I was in pieces,” Graves’s artist statement reads. “I slowly picked up the parts of myself I lost and processed what happened through my art. This exhibit takes you through my emotions and my healing journey.”

Graves is currently pursuing a double major in studio art and arts management at Centenary College, continuing to use art to inspire conversations around mental health, resilience, and the transformative power of creativity.

This event is free and open to the public.
