Move-In Day! Centenary College welcomes the Class of 2029

Move-In Day at Centenary College of Louisiana welcomed the Class of 2029 on Friday, August 1.  Soon, those students will say bonjour to Paris as the freshmen kick off their college career with courses that allow them to soak up French culture while bonding with new classmates and professors.

With the help of parents, volunteers, and resident assistants (RA), students hauled bags, boxes, and personal décor to their rooms. They spent the weekend attending orientation sessions, and today, they begin their Centenary in Paris course.

This is the 11th  year for the College’s Centenary in Paris program.  This signature program allows freshmen to spend their first few weeks of college exploring the City of Lights while also learning art, history, music, literature, economics, and more.

While at Centenary, students will have more chances to travel abroad through faculty-led study abroad programs, exchange programs, and independent study.

The Class of 2029 departs for Paris on Friday, August 8, and they will return on the 15th.  Upper classmen return to their residences later before classes begin on the 25th.  That is the day that Welcome Week kicks off with “Wake UP Centenary,” an event that allows students to pick up some free caffeine in the student union, affectionately called “the SUB.”   Dr. Christopher Holoman will officially open the academic year with his President’s Convocation on Tuesday, August 26.
