Health Information

Our Health Information staff helps keep Centenary students healthy in body and mind, offering basic first aid, medical and dental referrals, and over-the-counter medications. The Health Information office is located in the lower level of Rotary Hall, where students can receive information about physical and mental health, sexuality, eating disorders, stress, and other issues relevant to overall health and well-being.

Immunization Requirements

Health Services ensures compliance with Louisiana statutes that require a student entering college to provide proof of immunizations or to sign a waiver stating they do not wish to have vaccinations due to medical or personal reasons before starting classes.

Over-the-Counter Medications

Health Services is open five days a week and offers over-the-counter (OTC) medicine. All over-the-counter (OTC) medications are locked in a medical supplies closet; no more than two doses of OTC medications are dispensed at any one time.

OTC medications are provided to treat mild aches and pains such as headaches, allergies, and mild GI issues.

Sexual Health Resources

The center provides educational resources on sexual health and education and offers resources to connect students with issues pertaining to sexual health.

PRJKT Ruby online provides birth control for $20/month. To obtain a prescription you have to fill out a beginning questionnaire online they set up a phone call with a physician in Louisiana. The consultation is free of charge. No proof of insurance, identification, or residence is required.

Food Pantry and Resources

The Davis CARE center has an on site food pantry offering quick and easy to prepare meals and snacks. There is also cookware available to all students to check out. Students can also get on information on more long term food assistance.

Clothing Resources

The Davis CARE center partners with YWCA Fab Finds to provide clothing for students for work, class, and everyday wear.

Short-term emergency financial assistance

Students are able to apply for short-term emergency financial assistance for unexpected emergency costs.

Emergency transportation and public transit resources

The Davis CARE Center will provide transportation for medical appointments or to get food assistance. We can also help students receive information about the city bus system.
