Celebrating our Differences
Centenary College of Louisiana values human diversity in all its richly complex and multifaceted forms, whether expressed through race and ethnicity, culture, political and social views, religious and spiritual beliefs, language and geographic characteristics, gender, gender identities and sexual orientations, learning and physical abilities, age, and social and economic classes.
With continued support of the administration, faculty, staff, and student body, the diversity committee of Centenary College will champion diversity in every aspect of campus life so that all members of the College community can explore the unfamiliar and invent new approaches to understanding within a safe and supportive environment.

Centenary Model Arab League
Centenary's Diversity Committee, with support from the Department of History and Political Science, is organizing a debate team to join the Southwest University Model Arab League.
The purpose of the Model Arab League (much like the Model United Nations teams that operate at other colleges and universities) is for college/university groups to represent one of the Arab League's 22 member-states.
Student delegates work to achieve consensus on questions that real-life diplomats wrestle with daily. They write, debate, and pass resolutions that seek to resolve some of the Arab countries' most difficult challenges. The dynamics and interactive nature of the role-playing by students stimulate critical thinking, heighten creativity, expand knowledge, and cultivate understanding as no book, video, or coursework ever could.
5-10 participants are preparing for the Conference, which will take place in April at the University of Texas A&M Commerce.
Issues for debate range from Palestinian Affairs, Joint Defense, as well as Social, Political and Environmental topics. Students interested in participating do not have to be from a specific area of study, just interested in a unique opportunity that is new to Centenary.
