Turner Art Center

The Turner Art Center (TAC) offers students a broad range of updated studio art facilities. All studio classrooms use professional-grade art supplies, committed green practices, and even, daylight-quality lighting. Studio spaces are also equipped with large-scale image projection systems for sharing reference images and videos.

Our sculpture studios include metalworking, ceramics, and a large wood shop. These traditional sculpture set-ups are rounded out with further craft opportunities such as textile equipment (sewing machines, loom, and industrial sewing machine) to provide a flexible, contemporary sculpture area. 2D workspaces include drawing and painting studios as well as presses for printmaking.

Students use the central spaces of the TAC to hang work for exhibition, workshopping, and critique. Designed as inviting hang-out spots for art students, these areas feature cozy furniture and study nooks. The second floor of the TAC is dedicated to advanced studio art majors who use their permanent, individualized studio spaces to develop original bodies of work and solo senior shows.
