Allison Washington is a native of Jackson, Mississippi, and a graduate of Belhaven University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. She has over a decade of experience in the communications industry and has worked as a Radio Personality, Television Show Host, Communications Director and Community Engagement Director. Most recently, Allison served as a Community Organizer for a local non-profit organization, which relocated her to the Shreveport/Bossier area.
Of the arts, Allison's first love is music and has played clarinet for nearly 3 decades. She has performed in the Symphonic Wind, Woodwind and Woodwind Quartet ensembles at Jackson State University, as well as marched in the famous Sonic Boom of the South marching band. Allison was also the voice of the Sonic Boom of the South, being the first and only female to have ever served in that capacity.
A firm believer in the quote, "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others," Allison currently volunteers for a number of organizations including the Junior League of Shreveport/Bossier, League of Women Voters, Women's Democratic Club of Northwest Louisiana and serves as a board member for The Glen Retirement Systems of Shreveport.
