Centenary's Meadows Museum to host Holiday Makers Market December 9

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Meadows Museum of Art at Centenary College will welcome local artists, designers, makers, and businesses to the museum for its inaugural Holiday Makers Market on Saturday, December 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Meadows is located on the Centenary campus at 2911 Centenary Boulevard.

In addition to original artwork and crafts created by Shreveport-Bossier City vendors, the Holiday Makers Market will feature a large collection of used art books for sale. Rhino Coffee will provide free hot cocoa for the first 100 children to attend, and local folk musician Hal Mayfield will perform Christmas music and some of his original songs during the afternoon.

“One thing that drew me to the Shreveport-Bossier is the passion people have for the local burgeoning creative industry,” says Sean FitzGibbons, director of the Meadows Museum. “I have met many talented and innovative artists and small business owners here who have an inspiring devotion to their craft. Part of the Meadows Museum’s mission is to engage the local community, and this Holiday Makers Market is a practical and festive way to support Shreveport's creative economy while getting into the holiday spirit.”

Visit the Holiday Makers Market Facebook event for more information and updates about the market.
