Students start by taking courses on religious problems. We will examine how religion has helped and hurt efforts to build a more just and kind world. At the intermediate level, students study religious traditions. They will learn about the beliefs, values, and practices of different traditions, including the internal diversity and how the tradition has developed over time. Upper-level courses allow the students an opportunity to for in-depth research into topics, such as the roles women play in religion or religion within the African American community.
