Religious Studies 101. FAITH AND CONFLICT  
This lower-level course introduces students to the study of religion by focusing on the role religion has played in societal conflicts. We examine debates about sexuality and gender, violence, race, poverty and wealth, and nationalism through a religious lens. Throughout our study, we will explore change and dissent within religious traditions, secularism, and efforts to bridge these divides. Fall. HUMANITIES EXPLORATION  
 
Religious Studies 203. INTRODUCTION TO CHRISTIANITY  
This 200-level course focuses on a single tradition: Christianity. We look at the historical development of Christian religious thought and practice from Jesus to the present. Emphasis is on the formation of Christianity's major teachings and their transformation and diverse expressions in the medieval, reformation, and modern periods. HUMANITIES EXPLORATION 
 
Religious Studies 384. AFRICAN AMERICAN RELIGIONS  
This course  upper-level course examines the history and culture of African American religious expressions. Students will examine the legacy of historical events such as the slave trade, emancipation, the Great Migration, and the civil rights movement. HUMANITIES EXPLORATION
