Muses Fall Study Series

This October, the Muses Study Series will feature classic American short stories, the literary genre in which American writers early made superlative contributions. Our text is Great American Short Stories, edited by Wallace and Mary Stegner. October 2nd – Washington Irving, Rip Van Winkle and Nathaniel Hawthorne, Young Goodman Brown. October 9th – Edgar Allan Poe, The Fall of the House of Usher. October 16th – Herman Melvlle, Bartleby the Scivener and Bret Harte, Tennessees Partner. October 23rd – Henry James, The Real Thing. October 30th – O. Henry, A Municipal Report and John Steinbeck, The Snake.
