The John Garrett Ratcliff Endowed Chair of Philosophy was established in memory of Thomas Kalford Ratcliff (1994-2021). Thomas was a funny, quirky, and loving person, a son who valued his relationships with family and friends. Thomas was interested in philosophy, religion and sociology, but he was most passionate about fighting homelessness, the criminalization of poverty and race, and oppression in its many other forms. Thomas’ parents, John and Joy Ratcliff, honor and forever remember Thomas and wish to further his passions through the Ratcliff Endowed Chair of Philosophy.
