FAFSA Facts

What is the FAFSA?

The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. It is the application for the Federal Pell Grant and all other federal financial aid programs as well as for the Louisiana TOPS scholarship.

Who needs to complete the FAFSA?

We encourage all students, regardless of their financial situation, to file the FAFSA. A student must complete the FAFSA each year, and the institution's cost directly affects a student's calculated financial need.

How do you file the FAFSA?

Use FAFSA On the Web to file the FAFSA.  Both the student and a parent will need a StudentAid.gov account before accessing and completing their section of the FAFSA.
